HELPING THE NEXT GENERATION EARN THEIR WINGS
The aviation industry has given Gulf Aviation and Certas Energy tremendous opportunities to grow and to flourish as businesses.
At Gulf Aviation we’re delighted to be taking market share from the opposition in an incredibly competitive aviation fuels and lubricants space. But we’re also honoured to be in a position to be able to give something back to the industry too.
Currently, twelve young people from Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire have been given a unique chance to experience a wide range of career options available within the aviation sector through the Cotswold Airport Aviation Scholarship.
And we’re proud to be sponsoring the Scholarship in partnership with our friends at Cotswold Airport, a Gulf Aviation partner and one of the UK’s leaders in general aviation.
Every year Cotswold Airport’s Aviation Scholarship programme offers young people a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to pursue their dream aviation careers.
Over the last ten years, more than 70 scholars have gone through the ranks. And this year 12 more lucky young people will get the same opportunity.
It’s a genuine privilege to be able to support such an incredible and ambitious group of young people and we wish them every success on the intense two-week programme.
The Scholarships are funded by Cotswold Airport owner, Ronan Harvey, and I understand that the team were, once again, overwhelmed with applicants this year.
The new recruits started on Monday 31st July and they will receive aviation ground school training, flying lessons in a range of different aircraft – a total of ten hours over ten days – and first-hand experience of the work of air traffic controllers, airport operations and engineers.
Earning their wings, taking flight
It’s not often in any job you get the chance to help give young people the opportunity to realise their dream careers.
But we’re in an enviable position to be able to give back to the community that has supported – and continues to support – our own growth as a company.
And who knows where they could go? We hope this is the first of many important steps in their career journeys.
